MesoBrite™ Depigmentation treatment is available in Gauteng at the Morningside, Parkhurst, Rosebank, Bedfordview, Fourways, West Rand, Irene, Waterfall, Irene, Lynnwood and Brooklyn clinics, as well as in the Western Cape at Cape Quarter, Claremont, Constantia, Century City, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Willowbridge clinics, and Kwa-Zulu Natal at the Ballito, Durban and Umhlanga clinics.

Skin ageing and discolouration caused by systematic sun exposure, facial blemishes due to excessive pigmentation, melasma (stubborn, hormonal pigmentation), PIH and, in general, imperfections caused by melanin are more and more common problems today. “Dark marks” or “dark blemishes”, especially on the face and hands, are one of the greatest aesthetic concerns of modern men and women. It will only be possible to remove the anti-aesthetic skin blemishes and recover the smoothness of the skin, bringing back its luminosity, with a treatment that directly affects the intricate process of pigment (melanin) formation.

The treatment mechanism of action is based on three major principles, namely;

1) the inhibition and suppression of tyrosinase, an important enzyme in the melanin formation process;

2) Constant barrier support and controlling of inflammatory triggers which spike melanin production; and

3) the systematic removal of the melanin that has already been produced and trapped in the deeper layers of the skin.

Several of the substances present in the MesoBrite™ treatment formula act by blocking the tyrosinase enzyme or even by inverting the metabolic process of the transformation chain.

The MesoBrite™ Depigmentation treatment’s principal action is the elimination of melanin patches on the face - melasma, also called chloasma (if the pigmentation occurs with pregnancy). The treatment involves a very versatile, dynamic process which is easily adapted to the needs of each individual patient. The MesoBrite™ is so much more than just a treatment. It is a complete pigmentation treatment solution which includes pre-treatment, in-clinic treatment and a home care maintenance kit to ensure ongoing improvement ad management of this dynamic condition.

Phase 1

First, the preparation phase includes the use of our specially formulated Azelaic Acid Cream & Treatment preparation cream, which will prepare the skin by:

• Lowering inflammation and repairing the barrier
• Suppressing tyrosinase
• Gently encouraging the start of skin cell turnover to ensure faster healing and recovery.

Phase 2

The in-clinic treatment phase is a specialised layered peel and mask application consisting of:

• Pre-treatment skin cleansing & degreasing solution
• Pre-treatment peeling solution
• Beta Lite Peel
• MELANOout System Mask from MCCM Cosmetics

Phase 3

On-going maintenance is vital to sustain and further improve the treatment results. Using the prescribed home care product pack achieves the maintenance phase of the process. There are two versions of the pack:

• Important: it must be known if the patient has undergone any previous depigmenting treatments and their side effects.
• Is the patient using any acid-based home care products, especially with glycolic acid? If confirmed, any treatment, especially Glycolic Acid, must be eliminated at least one week prior to having the treatment.
• The patient must commit to the full process, especially the maintenance phase, as this is where the overall improvement and treatment results truly become visible.
