Marisa's teeth had always been her biggest concern, causing her to always hide behind her hand and being too shy to approach new business clients confidently. Through the Mooimaak transformation, Marisa received a brand new smile and new life was breathed into her skin that was severely asphyxiated due to years of neglect and smoking. Marisa's Treatments

Marisa's Mooimaak journey was led by Dr Graham Duncombe, with additional treatments performed by therapist Lizanne Burton at the Cape Quarter branch, and the CO2 laser done by Dr André Truter at Stellenbosch. Marisa had an intensive treatment plan, which targeted and improved her severely asphyxiated skin, rough texture, pigmentation and excess skin! Over the course of 15 weeks, Marisa's treatment plan incorporated a wide range of laser therapies for various benefits to the skin. Limelight laser lifted epidermal pigmentation; CO2 laser caused deeper collagen production stimulation and greatly improved Marisa's skin texture; Titan® Laser lead to an instant lift in her jowl area, and long-term collagen production stimulation; whilst Laser Genesis™ improved overall skin tone, colour, fine lines and inflammation. Further to the above Marisa also had a series of combination treatments to address sagging skin by lifting, tightening and strengthening the deeper and superficial layers of the skin. The final lift was achieved by strategically placing Silhouette Soft® threads and a liquid facelift to address volume replacement and anti-wrinkle therapy. The result is beautiful glowing and healthy-looking skin! With Marisa having stopped smoking and taking better care of herself through ongoing maintenance and Lamelle home care products, she will continue to see an improvement in her skin and overall health!

CO2 laser

The CO2 fractional laser treatment was used to specifically target Marisa’s severe deep wrinkles and sallow complexion by removing the outer layers of dead and damaged skin. A focus point in the treatment performed by Dr André Truter, was the smokers lines around Marisa's mouth. The purpose of the treatment was collagen production and stimulation for improved appearance of wrinkles and overall skin health.

Titan® Laser

Due to Marisa's dental implant, tightening radiofrequency treatments had to be substituted to the highly effective Titan® laser. This laser utilises a pulsed broadband infrared source. The tightening effects of Titan® are immediate but the best results come down the line, when the effects of collagen production become evident. One can see an immediate tightening effect after one Titan® treatment but best results are seen after three treatments spaced 1 month apart.

3D Liquid Facelift: Dermal fillers and Botulinum Toxin

Due to the natural ageing process, Marisa's skin required some volume replacement and reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. To address these concerns, Dr Graham used a wide variety of dermal fillers to restore volume and add more shape to Marisa's facial features. Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which is broken down by the metabolism over time. By strategically and skilfully injecting fillers into areas of concern they can restore lost volume, shape, rejuvenate and enhance natural facial features. Botulinum Toxin injections are indicated to improve fine lines and dynamic wrinkles.
