Dr Shannon Bayly

Dr Shannon Bayly began her medical journey at the University of Pretoria, earning her MBChB degree in 2018. After graduation, she returned to her roots in KZN to start her internship at Addington Hospital. 

Her medical career then took her back to Gauteng, where she completed community service. There, she focused on paediatric and general surgery at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg General Hospital and trauma care at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. 

After gaining valuable experience in the emergency department at Sandton Medi Clinic for two years, Dr Shannon followed her true calling in Aesthetic Medicine by joining the team at Skin Renewal.

She has always had a deep appreciation for the arts, a passion she felt was missing in traditional medical disciplines until she discovered Aesthetic Medicine—a field where her love for artistry and science beautifully merge. She believes in the importance of feeling good about oneself, both internally and externally, as a crucial part of overall well-being, often neglected in healthcare.

Dr Shannon benefited from in-depth training under the guidance of Skin Renewal's Medical Director and founder, Dr Maureen Allem. Through a specialised three-month medical aesthetic training program at Skin Renewal, she could draw on Dr Maureen's extensive experience, enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field.

Outside of her professional life, Dr Shannon is an avid reader and a fan of true-crime podcasts, and she enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. She embraces challenges, loves to travel, savours good food, and seeks out adventures, yet she finds equal joy in the comfort of her home, curled up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and a captivating movie.
