17 years ago, at the young age of 35, Patricia’s husband passed away, leaving her as the sole income provider for their three small children. To survive she had to work three jobs at times to make ends meet, always putting her children’s needs before her own. She says that they gave her a reason to get up every day, and today her children are all healthy, happy and successful! Despite all her hardship, troubles and set-backs she has never lost her passion and love of life, and appreciates every single day for the possible adventure it holds! Patricia is ‘the ultimate nature lover’ and spends a lot of time outside: gardening and visiting the beach with her dogs are some of her favorite pastimes. Mooimaak has given Patricia the opportunity to fight her biggest heartache: that people judge you based on appearance, without knowing your story and getting to know you.

Patricia's Treatments

Patricia’s Mooimaak journey was led by Dr André Truter with additional treatments performed by therapist Bernice Crause over a period of three months. Due to many years of neglect and extreme environmental factors, Patricia’s skin presented with severe sun damage, loss of volume and elasticity. CO2 Fractional Laser

The CO2 fractional laser treatment was used to specifically target Patricia’s severe sun damage, deep wrinkles and sallow complexion by removing the outer layers of dead and damaged skin. Due to the extent of damage, Patricia had two CO2 sessions, with the purpose of collagen production stimulation for improved appearance of wrinkles, scarring and overall skin health. This is an intensive laser treatment with 7-10 days downtime, but stunning results!

Redermalisation is the proses of injecting a mixture of Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Succinate into the skin, using a special technique. These ingredients work on the skin to improve hydration, block free radical activity and act as a powerful anti-oxidant. This addresses the causes of ageing and results in overall skin renewal.

"No pain, sensitivity or irritation with this treatment - the gas that was injected into the skin stays there, while it does it magic, and when I gently washed my face the night after treatment my skin ‘talked’ to me. Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy is the use of medical grade carbon dioxide gas which is injected superficially into the skin to render the treated area as ‘oxygen deprived’. For Patricia is improved her sallow complexion and assisted with skin tightening and collagen stimulation.
