Liana Hanekom

A true farm girl from Moorreesburg, Liana matriculated at Dirkie Uys High school and pursued a career where she could work with people and impact their lives. This drove her to study a B.Cur at Stellenbosch University and work towards her passion of becoming a nurse. After her degree, she completed her honours in ICU nursing.

She loved South Africa but wanted to see what the world has to offer, so she decided to work abroad in London on and off as a nurse. This opportunity allowed her to work with different types of people and gain invaluable experience. After ten years, she headed back to the place of her roots and settled in Durbanville, continuing to work in the ICU at Netcare for ten years. After all these years in ICU, an opportunity at the Renewal Institute came along, and she could not miss out.

She believes that nurses can touch people's lives, and paired with the Renewal Institute, she can combine both of her passions – People and Nursing!
